In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Form mixture into small meatballs.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through.
In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and chili flakes (if using).
Pour sauce into skillet with meatballs and simmer for a few minutes.
Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce, stirring constantly.
Cook until sauce is thick and meatballs are glazed.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Serve hot over cooked rice.

These meatballs make an excellent appetizer or main dish. You can substitute ground beef with turkey or plant-based meat alternatives!
