  • 12 oz Pasta penne or fusilli
  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • cup Honey
  • ¼ cup Soy sauce low sodium if preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon Red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Green onions sliced, for garnish

  • Cook pasta in salted boiling water until just tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and break it up while browning.
  • Add minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and soft.
  • Pour in honey and soy sauce. Add red pepper flakes if using. Simmer a few minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Add cooked pasta to skillet. Stir to coat with sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir again and let sit so sauce clings.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat with a splash of water or broth. Can be frozen in portions and reheated gently.
