- 1 large sourdough loaf About 1 pound.
- ½ cup unsalted butter Softened.
- 4 cloves garlic Minced.
- ¼ cup fresh parsley Chopped.
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional.
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
Cut the sourdough loaf in half lengthwise. If preferred, you can make diagonal cuts in the bread for easy serving.
Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over both halves of the sourdough loaf.
If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top of the buttered bread.
Place the halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Slice into pieces and serve warm.
For a more intense garlic flavor, you can roast the garlic before mixing it with the butter.
Feel free to experiment with different herbs, such as thyme or oregano, to customize your garlic bread.
This sourdough garlic bread pairs well with pasta, soups, or salads, making it a versatile addition to any meal.
