Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy, using an electric mixer or whisk.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each to allow for spreading.
Gently press the top of each cookie with your finger to slightly flatten them and sprinkle the festive sprinkles on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown. The centers should look soft.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
