Equipment

  • 1 Slow Cooker 6-quart

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 ounce crushed tomatoes
  • 18 ounce tomato paste
  • 15 ounce tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown the ground chuck. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the beef, onion, and garlic mixture to the slow cooker.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and sugar until combined.
  • Add basil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Stir and serve over cooked pasta.

Notes

For quicker results, cook on high for 3 to 4 hours, but low and slow is best for flavor. Store leftovers in airtight containers and refrigerate or freeze for later use.
