  • 1 pound beef cut into strips, flank, sirloin, or ribeye work great
  • 4 ounces peppers any type you like, bell pepper, jalapeƱo, poblano
  • 4 ounces onions cut in chunks or thin slices
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger fresh, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce sweet-savory depth
  • 2 scallions cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil for stir frying
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce umami kick
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine for authentic touch
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch to thicken
  • 1 teaspoon sugar rounds everything out

  • Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add beef strips and stir fry till browned, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Remove beef and set aside.
  • Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add bell peppers and onions, stir fry for 3 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return beef to the skillet, add oyster sauce, soy sauce, rice wine, and scallions. Stir well.
  • Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until everything is heated through.

Notes

Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
