Heat oil in a big pan over medium heat.
Toss in the diced onion and sauté until it goes translucent.
Stir in cumin, dried chilli flakes, turmeric, and paprika. Let it cook for a minute or two.
Add white rice and stir well so every grain gets coated with spices.
Pour in water and add the chicken stock cube. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover the pot.
Let it simmer for 15 minutes on low heat.
After simmering, add peas and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
