- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- optional fresh parsley, for garnish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the sliced onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with softened cream cheese. Stir until well-blended.
Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
Top the casserole with shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
For an extra kick, consider adding sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the ground beef mixture.
You can replace ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
This casserole can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheats well in the microwave.
