- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- green onions for garnish (optional)
Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips against the grain. Cut the broccoli into small florets and set aside.
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and chili flakes. Add the sliced beef and mix well to coat. Let it marinate for about 5 minutes while you prepare the broccoli.
In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they become bright green and slightly tender. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the marinated beef along with the marinade. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the beef is cooked through and browned.
Return the broccoli to the skillet with the beef and stir everything together for an additional 2 minutes to combine and heat through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired. Serve immediately.
Feel free to add other low-carb vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for more variety.
Make sure not to overcook the broccoli; it should remain crisp.
Adjust the spice level to your preference by adding more or less chili flakes.
