- 4 fillets salmon about 6 oz each
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced (optional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 2 green onions sliced for garnish
- sesame seeds for garnish, optional
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger (if using), olive oil, and lemon juice until well combined.
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper to taste and place them skin-side down in a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon fillets, reserving a few tablespoons for basting.
Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through. Baste the salmon with the reserved sauce halfway through the cooking time for extra flavor.
Once done, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
Serve the Honey Garlic Salmon with steamed vegetables or over rice for a complete meal.
You can substitute the salmon with other types of fish, but cooking times may vary.
For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
