  • 3 cups Flour all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Buttermilk room temperature
  • 1 Egg large
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • ¼ cup Butter melted
  • 2 tablespoon Caraway seeds optional

  • Preheat the pressure cooker on the sauté setting.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add buttermilk, egg, and sugar to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Stir in melted butter and caraway seeds (if using).
  • Knead the dough briefly and shape it into a round loaf.
  • Place the loaf in a lightly greased pan that fits into your pressure cooker.
  • Place the pan on a trivet inside the pressure cooker with water at the bottom.
  • Close the lid and set the pressure to high for 45 minutes.
  • Once cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally.
  • Remove the bread from the pressure cooker and let it cool before slicing.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, add raisins or currants to the dough before baking.
