  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add diced green bell pepper and onion, sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute, being careful not to burn.
  • Add lean ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart evenly.
  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stir well and simmer until sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in cream cheese until melted and combined smoothly into the beef mixture.
  • Lightly toast hamburger buns and place a slice of provolone cheese on the bottom halves to melt.
  • Scoop beef mixture onto buns, top with the other halves, and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve hot for the best melty, cheesy sloppy joe experience. Toast buns lightly for added crunch.
