- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 lbs total.
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley For garnish.
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow it to melt and become slightly golden.
Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze it and incorporate the flavors.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.
Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it in the sauce. Allow it to simmer together for another 2-3 minutes.
Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish for garnish and serve immediately.
For an extra kick, feel free to add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce.
Pair this dish with pasta, rice, or a side of roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
