Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices bread Thick-cut, like sourdough or Texas toast.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Softened.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Such as cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Optional.

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Heat a frying pan or skillet over medium heat.
  • Place two slices of bread in the pan, buttered side down, and add half of the shredded cheese on top of each slice.
  • Place the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side up, on top of the cheese.
  • Grill the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.
  • Carefully flip the sandwiches using a spatula and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove the sandwiches from the pan, let them cool for a minute, then cut in half.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to customize your grilled cheese with different types of cheese or add-ins like tomatoes or bacon.
Be careful not to burn the garlic while grilling; keep the heat moderate.
