Equipment

  • 1 6-8 quart crock pot
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 basting brush
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 8-10 pounds fully cooked ham For best results, select a bone-in ham for richer flavor.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • to taste optional whole cloves Optional for garnish.

Instructions

  • Begin by preparing the ham. If it has a rind, gently score the surface in a diamond pattern to allow the glaze to penetrate the meat.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon. Mix well to create the glaze.
  • Place the ham in the crock pot and pour the glaze evenly over it. Use a basting brush to make sure the ham is well coated.
  • Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 6 hours. The ham is fully heated when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
  • Optionally, you can baste the ham with the glaze once or twice during cooking to enhance the flavor.
  • Once done, carefully remove the ham from the crock pot and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve the sliced ham with any leftover glaze drizzled on top. Garnish with whole cloves if desired.

Notes

For best results, select a bone-in ham for richer flavor.
Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
This ham pairs well with sides like scalloped potatoes, green beans, and dinner rolls for a complete Easter meal.
