Equipment

  • 1 large pot
  • 1 colander
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 garlic press (optional)

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Once al dente, drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well to combine with the garlic. Allow it to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, thickening slightly.
  • Reduce the heat to low and gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, continuously whisking until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little pasta water to achieve your desired consistency.
  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing well to coat evenly with the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the pasta to absorb the flavors.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

You can customize this recipe by adding vegetables such as spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for added flavor and nutrition.
For a protein boost, consider adding grilled chicken or shrimp to the pasta.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove with a splash of cream or pasta water to loosen the sauce.
