  • 1 skillet
  • 1 colander
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • 5 slices bacon, chopped Cook until crispy.
  • 1 cup heavy cream You can use half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 ounce ranch seasoning mix About 1 packet.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • to taste salt

  • for garnish chopped green onions or parsley Optional.

Instructions

  • Begin by cooking the penne pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside once cooked.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • In the same skillet, add the cubed chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Ensure the center is no longer pink.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, then stir in the ranch seasoning mix. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer while stirring.
  • Once the sauce begins to thicken (about 3-5 minutes), add the cooked pasta and crispy bacon to the skillet, stirring well to combine.
  • Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and the dish is well coated in the creamy sauce.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.
