Flavor-packed one pot BBQ chicken fried rice with smoky Japanese BBQ sauce, tender chicken, fluffy rice, scrambled eggs, and crunchy sesame seeds – ready in under an hour!
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add diced chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and brown sugar. Coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning.
Push chicken to one side, add another tablespoon of oil to the empty side, and crack in the eggs. Scramble until just cooked but still soft.
Mix scrambled eggs and chicken together in the skillet.
Add the cooked rice and final tablespoon of oil. Stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
Pour in Japanese BBQ sauce and stir-fry everything together for 2-3 minutes until heated through and evenly coated.
Top with sesame seeds and scallions if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
