Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • ½ white onion chopped fine
  • 3 cloves garlic minced or pressed
  • 1 package frozen cheese tortellini 18 to 22 ounces

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish so nothing sticks.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground Italian sausage with chopped onion over medium heat. Stir it until sausage browns and onion softens—about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet last and cook for one more minute till it’s fragrant.
  • Meanwhile, boil the frozen cheese tortellini exactly like the package says, then drain it and set aside.
  • In a big bowl, mix together the pizza sauce, undiluted cheddar cheese soup, half the pepperoni, salt, and one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Add your cooked tortellini and sausage mixture into that bowl, then stir everything till it’s all coated evenly.
  • Transfer this tasty mix into your greased baking dish. Spread it out good then sprinkle the rest of the pepperoni and mozzarella on top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or till cheese on top gets all bubbly and melty. Let it sit five minutes before you dig in.

Notes

Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes after baking for best slicing. Customize with mushrooms, peppers, or olives for fun variations.
