Simple pasta sauces are nice, but sometimes you want something a little different. A little toothy, something with a bite. Thats where this vegan meat sauce comes in. Using TVP ( my favourite thing in the whole wide world) to create a meaty texture, that is perfect for a pasta sauce.

Their nothing better on pasta than a good meat sauce in my opinion. It’s thick and saucy with a nice texture. Making a vegan meat sauce or a pasta bolognese if you will, doesn’t have to be difficult. With TVP (textured vegetable protein) anything is possible.

This TVP Pasta Bolognese came and went out of my life many times before I’ve shared it with you. I’ve tweaked it continuously until it was satisfying. Now, I want to share it with you. A veganized pasta bolognese on a budget.

A few notes on this recipe:
* Garlic powder doesn’t do this recipe justice, you will, unfortunately, need either fresh garlic or jarred minced garlic.
* Salt and pepper is optional and dependant on your tomatoes and whether they are salted or need salt (always taste your food as you are making it)
