Everyone knows sweet potato fries. I’m pretty sure we all love them too. I mean, you wouldn’t be here on this recipe if you didn’t right!? I’ve talked about taking advantage of great sales during grocery shopping before, and that’s why I’m sharing this recipe with you. I was lucky enough to catch an awesome sale on sweet potatoes this past week. The peak season for them is between October and March, you get why they are showing at great prices in most areas.

I love sweet potatoes, and in fries form, they are so creamy and delicious with a nice crispy coating. They go great with burgers, wraps or all on their own with a great Paprika Aioli. Basically easily replace those plain potatoes with something that has a bit more substance occasionally.
Did you know that George Washington Carver has been said to write the first Sweet Potato Fries recipe in 1930? With everything, he did in his lifetime. He even wrote and published some great recipes that were well-loved. I have found several of his sweet potato recipes along with products he created from sweet potatoes. Unfortunately, I still can’t find his fries though.
A few notes on this recipe:
- 1 med sweet potato is perfect for a side or snack plate. Double or triple recipe if you’re looking to feed more people.
- If you prefer less of a kick. Cut black pepper in half.
